Thy Word is a Lamp Unto My Feet Outreach

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments. [Psalm 119:105, 106]

What is Salvation?

The plan to a better, fulfilling life and eternity…

WHAT IS SALVATION?
Salvation: the saving from danger, difficulty or evil; something that saves.
Redemption: to recover by discharging an obligation; to ransom, free or rescue from paying a price; to make good a promise by performing; to remove the obligation by a payment. —Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

The meaning of these words is energetic and powerful. How much more important they become when they involve human lives — and eternity!

Biblical salvation/redemption is YHWH’s preparation and care for rescuing sinners and restoring them to Humanity’s original state of perfection.
The plan of salvation was devised at the beginning of Time. The plan was put into action when Humanity disobeyed its Creator. The choice to disobey causes people to lose the original perfect state of existence.
Salvation is two-fold:

  • Pardon from the penalty of sin
  • Release from the power of sin.

Each person cooperates with the Savior and lets Him work within himself or herself. Humanity’s responsibility is to be willing to do what is asked of the Lord. A person is never asked to do anything that isn’t divinely provided for. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast [Ephesians 2:8, 9].

WHY SALVATION?

Salvation is a gift from YHWH. The gift is accepted by a person’s faith in His son Yahushua as Sovereign in that person’s life. It’s available to everyone — but becomes a reality only in the experience of people who, by their own free choice, accept the gift and put that acceptance into practice.
Salvation has several goals:

  • to restore/redeem YHWH’s image in the “psyche” or “soul” of Humanity
  • to wipe-out sin from the universe
  • to confirm YHWH’s neverending love and justice to all created beings in the universe
  • to establish widespread and complete everlasting peace and security.
